New Webinar: ESSA Overview

The Coalition for Community Schools is holding a webinar series on ESSA. Spending in Nation’s Schools Falls Yet Again

The nation’s per-pupil spending on K-12 public schools dropped in 2013 for the third year in a row, reversing more than a decade of funding increases. State governments in at least 31 states are contributing less to public education than they did in 2008, before the recession. Read more >

Victory for Discipline Reform in Houston!

This month Houston Independent School District became the first large district in Texas to ban suspensions of young students. This is a significant turnaround from late last year, when the proposal failed to garner enough votes. Read more>
