Congratulations to everyone who organized, participated in and helped spread the word about the AROS October 6th Walk-Ins! Events took place in over 200 cities, and close to 2,000 schools. Walk-ins focused on a variety of urgent local issues, but the common message was around the need for investment in public education. |
2,000 Seattle Teachers Wear ‘Black Lives Matter’ Shirts to Class |

About 2,000 Seattle educators wore Black Lives Matter shirts at their schools Wednesday to call for racial equity in education. Schools across the district held “Black Lives Matter at School” rallies before classes began for the day. Students, parents and teachers also wore stickers and buttons emblazoned with the "Black Lives Matter" slogan. Read more > |

This weekend, the national board of the NAACP ratified the proposal from their members to call for a moratorium on charter school expansion. We enthusiastically applaud this decision, which is in the greatest civil rights tradition of national policy advocacy rooted in grassroots realities. |
